More About Sheryl
Sheryl has over 23 years of experience in Human Resources, including roles in management and leadership across a variety of organizations and a number of industries such as professional services, software, non-profit and academia. As a seasoned HR professional, Sheryl has been involved in all phases of a company’s life cycle including, strategic assessment and planning for the HR function, policy and process development and implementation, the employee lifecycle, supervisor training and mentoring, conflict resolution and investigations, and compensation and benefits design. She enjoys helping start-ups to mid-sized firms with planning for their next twenty years and beyond using her expertise in designing and implementing HR functions and processes.
Sheryl strives to understand the value leadership places on its human resources and how this is reflected in the values and the strategic plan of the organization. She is also interested in examining how roles are aligned with the business and operational needs of the company and how leadership’s commitment to their employees is lived out in the training and support provided to staff.
Sheryl holds a BA in English Literature and Writing. Prior to her career move to business management and leadership, she was a book editor and business writer. She holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification, and a certificate in Mediation from the University of Washington School of Law. She has been an active member in the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM, both the Lake Washington and Seattle Chapters), and has also served on several non-profit boards.
For fun, Sheryl loves everything related to the arts, especially theatre. She also enjoys reading books, traveling, spending time with friends and family (and her new grandson!), as well as spending time in our beautiful Northwest nature.
